After attending The Clash show at the age of 15, Naomi Petersen set out on a mission to be a punk rocker, decorated in black hair dye, a white button-down shirt and skinny black tie. Strapped around her was the beloved Nikon camera and passion for punk rock, where Naomi would shoot local shows, develop the film in her laundry room and bring the finished prints to the next show. Her talent and connections began to grow, landing Naomi a position at 18 as the house photographer for legendary SST Records in the South Bay of LA. This is where she built binding friendships with bands like Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Minutemen, Husker Du, Saint Vitus, Descendents, and countless others. 

Soon her work began to appear in promo pics, show flyers plastered on the streets, record covers and sleeve inserts. As her work began to get recognized in music magazines, fanzines and newspapers around the world, remarkable exposure came towards these punk and alternative rock bands. Naomi had a special talent for making artists relaxed, coaxing them into laughter, to capture images that weren't overly posed or stylized. Rather Naomi's work spoke for itself and captured a side of these artists that weren't always seen to the public eye.
